FAQs

The Wasabi Method is an innovative approach to musculoskeletal treatment utilizing radial pressure wave therapy. It aims to accelerate healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility through non-invasive, targeted therapy. The method component is the real point of difference between us and other radial pressure wave therapy device companies. We have created a comprehensive online education platform that teaches both medical and non-medical individuals to learn at their own pace.

Shock wave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic (sound) waves to stimulate repair and regeneration of soft tissues throughout the body. It is commonly used to treat chronic pain, tendinopathy (tendonitis), muscle injuries, ligament injuries, fractures, wounds, peripheral nerves, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.

Radial pressure wave therapy, a form of shock wave therapy, uses high-energy acoustic waves that are applied to the skin to promote tissue regeneration, reduce pain, and enhance mobility. The only difference between a shock wave and a pressure wave is that shock waves are defined as having a minimum peak pressure of 100 mPa. Pressure waves don’t quite reach 100 mPa and thus, since the Wasabi Method device does not reach 100 mPa, we call term it as a pressure wave device. However, the results for shock wave and pressure wave devices are quite comparable.

Yes, unlike most shock wave and pressure wave device manufacturer Wasabi Method will sell to non-medical (layman) individuals. The FDA has classified that Wasabi Method device as a class 1 device, which is basically considered a massage device. There, is a caveat: as a non-medical purchaser you are only legally able to work on yourself.

Yes, you can purchase the education modules independently of the Wasabi Method device. In fact, we encourage owners of other devices to purchase our education modules to enhance their understanding and application of radial pressure wave therapy.
